They’re punishing him because he’s living breathing evidence of their incompetence. They want him out of the picture.

I can only hope that the people in charge will see some legal consequences in their future.

I’m pretty sure he didn’t take the deal to go to costa rica, because he has no plan to stay in Uganda or Costa Rica after he’s deported. He will probably fly to a third country either way, so why would he take a deal to stay in jail longer?

When he is flown to Uganda, he takes habeus corpus with him, and the myth of America as a land of law and order, too.
