Ask HN: Self-coding coding agent? (a la self-compiling compiler)

Just wondering if it's been done. Since the models are pure functions at temperature zero, it should be hypothetically possible to find/create a model M, agent code A, and prompt P such that A is a fixed point of the function RunPrompt_{M,p}: AgentCode -> AgentCode.
