Show HN: Start a Text with 'Like "'

4 points by noduerme ↗ HN
This is such a ridiculous hack. A friend with an iphone sent a text to my Android reading:

Like: "I'm thinking of a number"

Google's Messages app interpreted this as:

to "I'm thinking of a number"

I was like, who are you responding to?!

It took a minute of total miscommunication to realize that Messages must be just using the first six characters to decide if something is a "like" command

What's the like command?
I suspect the “like” action, thumbs up icon attached to it.
Yeah, sorry. I wrote this in a completely upside down way.

If you, on an iphone, write:

Like: "Too many squirrels in this town"

the Google Messages on Android will show:

to "Too many squirrels in this town"

Which is the same way it shows if someone thumbs ups a message you never received.
