[Commentable] Scribd is on pace for 70M uniques this month with just 5 Rails developers.
"Scribd launched less than two years ago, and has grown around 25% per month since then - that's somewhere in between the growth rates of Facebook and YouTube. For the month of January 2009, we're expecting to end the month with over 70 million unique visitors. The most amazing part is that we have only 5 rails developers working on the website - that's 14M+ uniques per rails engineer!
Last month we raised $9M in a series B from CRV and Redpoint. As we prepare for continued massive growth and for launching a whole bunch of cool new features, we need more rails engineers. Come join one of the fastest growing rails sites on the web. If you are a great hacker and looking for a job, send us your resume to hackers@scribd.com or visit scribd.com/jobs" -- tikhon

[ 5.4 ms ] story [ 43.7 ms ] threadThe most important thing is being good at your specialty - either rails or flash (or for whatever position you interview), and being knowledgeable in CS algorithms. Having cool side projects that you can demo is a huge plus.
There's a lot of startup-minded people inside the company, so any prior startups is a bonus.
Also, pillow dodge ball and razor scooter racing skill always helps :)
Features the likes of PenIsland and TherapistFinder...
