Ask HN: New FB account insta-banned, no appeal; why? help?

I just created an account on the Facebook using the address fb@johnnydec!mal.com (obfuscated here; not there). I'd like to spend some money on advertising. I used my real name and DOB.

The account was instantly banned for 'violating community guidelines'. On the iOS app I could submit my video-face-ID, which I did. An hour later, notice: rejected.

The help articles say that you can appeal this using a button when you log in. This button does not exist.

What the heck? What did I do? Here's what I can think:

1. fb@... email address is suspicious?

2. Is it possible that in the past my real name & DOB has been flagged? I've had various fb accounts on and off since it launched but cancelled my OG account way back in the day.

3. I'm in Thailand? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Can anyone help?

various FB accounts, could have gotten your device banned.
1. Yes, very

3. Most in asia maybe considered low quality IP or relatively high spam volume?

Same thing happened to me. I tried to open a business account, instantly banned. I don’t care enough to attempt fixing it.
Meta is obviously Bad these days. I advise not engaging and giving them more money and insight into your life and business.
Well, if it helps anyone, I just don't think it's possible to set up a new Facebook account then use it to start a business page. My partner just tried it - her real email, nothing weird - and after 4 hours of configuring settings, blocked. Did the video thing on the iPhone, appeal rejected.

I guess you have to have actual history of being logged in to and using Facebook so, lol, no thanks.
