Am I missing the boat on vector databases for RAG? (littleleaps.substack.com)

I mostly agree with the point, but domain-specific dense vectors in a hybrid search feels a less hacky than prompt expansion. Grep is good for a programmatic application like CC- perhaps less so for use-cases with greater abstraction.
