Ask HN: Why does a messaging app need so many updates?

Like why are they making so many updates to a simple messaging application that eventually it leads to enshittification? WhatsApp desktop latest update has made it so much slow and consuming an intensive amount of RAM. What the Hell?

That's it, no more other silly features like screen sharing, emojis, stickers, icons, status, no no NO! none of this load of crap is needed.

You don't even need that many developers to maintain this kind of app which is already working! only a handful are required for just maintenance.
