Ask HN: Open Source Digital Signage software?

Is there any good open source (preferably Linux based) digital signage software out there? I've been looking and all I can find are a few small projects, and super-expensive commercial solutions.

I need a back end CMS that can push different content (video, text pictures, live facebook and twitter feeds etc) out to multiple displays at different locations.

Surely this is a solved problem?
