I like HN. I also like being productive. HN has interesting things. However I'd rather not read 5 pages of WoT to determine WoT(post) == relevant

SO how about a TLDR field to accompany submissions?

You're asking " Who will curate it? " .. I don't know .. perhaps make the TLDR optional ... but if the OP cares about the subject matter they will have read it and could offer some insight.

The alternative is for people to learn how to write, and without exaggerating, most people have no idea how to write an article or a headline.

As far as I'm concerned, if after reading 25 words I don't know what the article is about, there's no point going on.

Just as true today.
