Ubiquiti could likely do more to keep their equipment out of Russia, but I also guess that Hunterbrook is doing this to manipulate some stock or for other selfish purposes.
It’s commodity hardware available for purchase to anyone with a credit card.
I missed this story directly elsewhere, only saw this story from the Preston Stewart interview that OP has linked.
I mean, the exact same arguments can be used for everything that goes through "parallel import", like German cars or luxury clothes.

The basic problem is that controlling beyond the 2nd sale is operationally/economically impossible for most companies. And don't even start with the refurbished market, it's a complete free for all.
