I'm in Tehran, what do you think will be happen?

I'm in Tehran. I woke up this morning, did some exercise, and about 3h ago i started hearing the sound of fighter jets; then heavy bombing.

A large-scale military operation has taken place in Iran, and one by one, communication channels are effectively being cut off by the government.

if you’ve seen the videos coming out of Tehran, look at how people are reacting, the way they respond when they see the bombardment. it’s striking!! yeh?

What do you think is going to happen?

God willing, the Iranian people rise up and overthrow the regime.

Use this opportunity because it may not come again soon.

A weakened regime that stays in power would be a terrible outcome to all this. Get the mullahs out!

as always: imho (!)

the usa will "bomb bomb bomb bomb iran" for a few weeks - as they wanted since 1979:

1. a few weeks in they will run out of ordnance to drop

2. they will declare victory and leave

3. iran wins by not being beaten

i think 2 things are possible but very unlikely - eg. small single digit per cent probability:

* successful regime change

* a really long war - like in afghanistan or irak (~ 10 or up to 20 years)

This is going to be a longer war. Iran is slowly burning up the Israeli missile defense stockpiles when one Iranian drone receives 10 missiles fired in defense. When the stockpiles are gone, then the Iranian counter-attack will begin in earnest

The remaining leaders of the regime are threatening to massacre the opposition people after the war is over. On the other hand, continuing attacks on regional countries and closing the strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf will probably be accompanied by bombing & leveling oil infrastructure and MAYBE seizing Iranian islands. the situation is very complicated right now.
