I'm no fan of Apple or TC but maybe his point is that all his choices are financially based not politically. IE no matter who was in office he'd lick their arse just the same.

BTW this is not the same as saying that none of his choices have political consequences, they obviously do, but he's not employed to bring his personal politics into the management of Apple.
