Ask HN: Confused about Skills in AI

I write a skill and ai autoinvokes it based on things i type into prompt. All good.

What i am confused about it is that now that it has read skill.md , my main session runs those instructions directly without calling the skill next time.

so point of skill is to load your context with skill.md ?
