Ask HN: Best build in public/regular updates blogs?

3 points by suralind ↗ HN
I’m looking for any blogs or other places where folks share regular updates about their companies/projects over time. I know there’s big community on Twitter, but that’s mostly bragging about revenue. I’m slightly more interested in longer forms where you can actually see their journey.

Please share a link if you know any blogs like that :)

There are plenty of them on Reddit
Pieter Levels is the obvious one. Not really a neat polished “blog”, more like watching someone ship in public for years.

Josh Pigford / Baremetrics had some good posts too. And the old Indie Hackers interviews were good for this before everything got a bit too content-brained.

Honestly most of the best ones aren’t big polished company blogs, they’re usually one person posting consistently while they’re still in the middle of it.

I used to think that if I follow the right blog, it'll help me become better at the startup game. Then I realised it was a waste of time as the advice came from a place of great luck and survivorship bias. The game is very basic - sell something that people want to buy; it's just that it's much harder to nail it than most people say it is.

I know it's not the answer you were looking for - but hopefully it'll help you focus on other things that matter more.
