I wonder what appeals to him about his new broader scope? Why would someone who started with long-shot silicon projects want to get to grips with very non-digital things like materials and manufacturing?
He clearly doesn't lack for non silicon-related opinions on Apple's roadmap or future - for example, he (reportedly) called Apple Vision a "science project", and an upgrade from VP lets him do that.
