Ask HN: How do you use AI at your regulated, restrictive company?

I work in finance, and the company policy is that mainstream LLMs are allowed when using public information but anything private / sensitive has to be done via M$ copilot, which I find crap for anything other than searching company documents. The result of that is that my usage of AI is massively limited.

I expect my only option is to effectively go to Mordor to get a Claude or a ChatGPT approved by risk and compliance - a daunting task - unless I’m missing something with copilot.

For those in similarly restrictive environments, how do you use AI day-to-day?

We've built a super simple solution for this such that it can help prevent any confidential data leakage at the prompt layers (PII PHI ) and seeing some good adoption, especially for companies such that the admin can monitor data leakages across employees well

You can see a complete overview of what's happening with their teams and how much important data got leaked in terms of metadata types. Everything runs on local, we capture nothing except metadata and only use local models within your chromium browsers itself
