RNA-triggered cell killing with CRISPR-Cas12a2 (nature.com)

Didn't knew CRISPR could kill a cell, for me it was a tool to edit a gene.

I'm curious if people if a biology background think about this usage as a research tool or as plausible therapeutic direction
