A Firebase Mistake Led to a €3,167 AI Bill Overnight in My Flutter App (ulusoyca.medium.com)

So this is a Google issue that's biting developers because Google buggered around with what an API key is. Seems like Google needs to refund this guy and sort out the issue they created.
