If a senior backend developer wanted to become frontend or devops or even sales, is that harder or easier in the age of AI?

There’s a clear route to sales through the “sales engineer” role at many companies. That shouldn’t be too hard. To change where you are in the stack, get hired by a smaller company that has a need for each engineer to wear many hats — they’ll typically be thrilled if you start to branch out a bit, and that gives you a chance to gradually transition.
