TIL: billionaires have multiple residences. This is new to me. The problem is, if you plan to leave in the event of collapse or unrest, your plans may be spoiled if you haven't already left.
No problem. They have to file taxes no matter where they live, and they won't draw upon US services "elsewhere". Unless they give up the passport, at which point the IRS only has their claws in for 10 years or so. But, without the passport, they can be denied at the border and come under the travel regime of the passports that remain.
