It's worth noting that the satellite failed at the exact time it was in the best position to photograph comet 3I/ATLAS, something observers on earth had been anxiously awaiting as Maven offered a viewpoint not achievable from here.
I wonder if it can be salvaged once we finally send a manned mission to Mars. It would still be extremely useful to have.
