New 'universal vaccine' technology could protect us from future virus outbreaks (cam.ac.uk)

With no intent to dismiss the science is there a risk of this encouraging morphological evolution of viral forms which bypass the commonalities? I have high hopes of this working and prolonging useful antiviral protection but isn't this a perpetual race?
