Chrome had the highest idle CPU and RAM usage in a 5-browser benchmark (gopeek-lovat.vercel.app)

it's just a very popular browser, edge is lotta better

I use Chrome, Edge, and Firefox on my laptop with Ubuntu (16 GB RAM) and see no major difference in memory eating. But with Chrome and Edge I have support of newest web APIs rather with Firefox and Safari don't. I'd used Firefox as my main browser before but once moved to Edge (Chromium) because some sites I used stopped opening and working in Firefox.

Dev tools are good as in Chrome as well in Firefox I think.
