Cirrus: ATProto Personal Data Server That Runs on Cloudflare Workers (github.com) 30 points by gurjeet 25d ago ↗ HN
[–] skybrian 25d ago ↗ > The result is a PDS that runs at the edge with no servers to manage, automatic scaling, and pay-per-use pricing.Since you have no control over traffic, that seems a bit worrisome compared to a flat rate for a VM?
[–] 1dom 25d ago ↗ This repo suggests running a PDS is a good thing because independence from platform changes, network resilience, data sovereignty and portability.Doing that on cloudflare feels like a bit of a practical and ideological contradiction in places.Regardless, still interesting/useful repo to learn a bit more about how PDS' work.
