Ignoring both the fire safety issues and how long it'd be 'till that kinda power destroyed your cookware...I don't think you'd want one of these installed in a kitchen that either kids or frailer seniors might frequent.

Just powerful coil and integrated battery charged by conventional 110v outlet. The description of this cooking stove should be placed at "Over engineering" Wikipedia page.
Perhaps there will come a day that I give up my gas range, after all.
My biggest induction cooktop issue isn't heating speed, it's heating coverage. My 14" cast iron doesn't head edge to edge on my cheapo $60 induction unit, and that's really frustrating. Sometimes I turn on the gas stove to get the job done!

For all the marvels Impulse offers, it's still only a 9" 'burner'. This would be the top thing I'd like to see fixed.

I just got a nuwave eletric wok, and am really hoping that it can do much better on my stir fry.

Historically, woks are only supposed to heat a fairly small section at the bottom. They were designed to move food through an extremely hot pool of oil at the bottom, then out to the edges. That produces the classic "wok hei" flavoring.

That's hard to produce at home. Even on a gas range it requires more throughput than most homes are designed for. You can really only get it at Chinese restaurants. (Though I've heard that people have success doing it with outdoor propane burners.)

My hope for this nuwave wok (as mentioned on Tech Connections) was not high, but I really wanted to hope. Thanks for the lesson though: I did not know. It does sound like an Impulse Stove for woks would actually be genius and perfect, if you were willing to totally reshape the system for it. Perhaps a wok with a weird flat bottom right at the bottom. That's tuned up to absurd magnetic saturation levels so it can induce like bonkers.
