Ask HN: Did the 1984 Mac share more in common with the c64 than the Apple II?

And if so, why do Mac users today generally care more about the Apple II than the c64 even if they have used neither?

no. the c64 was a toy. i used to sell them mostly as game machines, when I worked at a PC store as a teen. and yes, I used to also crack and pirate some of the c64 games.
