Ask HN: It's World Social Media Day. Which current ones you do and don't enjoy?

Not sure if you'd consider HN, Reddit, and YouTube to be social media but I'd say, I use them the most. There's something very peaceful about HN due to it being text only.

YouTube has been annoying me a lot recently though as my feed is constantly filled with AI slop, random shorts and channels which I have no interest in, and too many creators now using AI generated thumbnails which all look bad.

I don't use IG, TikTok, Snap, Pinterest etc. But I know my female friends love Pinterest.

How about you all?

I don't consider HN or YouTube to be social media. But if they count, then they're the only social media I use. I've been weaning myself off of YouTube, though, and use of HN has dropped significantly of its own accord.
