What a Streisand effect here. I was totally uninterested in that tournament, but the picture of one American player's foot firmly twisting down another country's player's ankle is hard to unsee, and kind of a defining moment for the year.
Whatever gets more people interested in soccer, talking about it, and out playing it.

One live view for USA game showed the other player run from behind Balogun but that was not in the replays. Both players went for the ball and one fell on the other.
Imagine this was the NFL quarterfinals or so and Trump would get the NFL to revert a foul on his favorite team. No matter the foul: what happens in the game is the game.
The fact that this got overturned should worry everyone that loves sports.
