Show HN: Pet Reminder – A macOS reminder app with a desktop pet (reminder.w3cub.com) 13 points by terryXyz 10d ago ↗ HN
[–] sonofaragorn 10d ago ↗ I couldn't find an example/screenshot of how the reminder would appear on the screen
[–] egypturnash 10d ago ↗ Not in the FAQ but immediately at the top of my mind when I looked at the images: What is the provenance of these pets? Are they AI generated?
[–] adamhowell 10d ago ↗ So, on the one hand, I want everyone to be able to vibe code all the software they always wish existed and be able to use it and enjoy it.But, on the other hand, I don't ever want to use anyone else's vibe coded software. Especially if it's non-essential.And I certainly won't ever pay for it.
[–] kranner 10d ago ↗ On the Mac App Store page [1], I can see the settings panel in a screenshot. In General Settings / Onboarding, there is a toggle switch labelled:"Show onboarding on first launch", with more text underneath"Show first-run guide after installation"I have no choice but to conclude that this app was vibe-coded from snout to tail.[1] https://apps.apple.com/app/id6776577400 [–] terryXyz 7d ago ↗ https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pet-reminder-pet-reminders/id6...
