Because software producers don't have to give a shit if their product actually works or solves a problem? Programmers moved fast, broke things, but didn't fix anything they broke.

Does it, though ? If healtcare was reinventing the wheel and adding layers of abstraction as SW does, we will all be at the hospital waiting for "bug fixes and performance inprovements".
