It reminds me of what the painters did when photography came onto the scene. They stopped painting life-like portraits and landscapes and started painting in the styles of Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Symbolism, Art Nouveau, Les Nabis, Pointillism -- in other words, doing works cameras couldn't do.
