Restaurants recommandations from Google always suck

Why does Google keep promoting restaurants recommandations from websites like Yelp or Tripadvisor?

It now also sources from Reddit. But that's not where I expect to find good recommandations. I'm sorry to hit nerds feelings here but the best addresses are found from Instagram & Tiktok but these platforms are not made for search.

Has anyone found some relevant or convenient solution?

Restaurant reviews and recommendations is necessarily an arms-race, and once a site gets good traction and reputation, it gets overrun with paid fake reviewers. Then the site has to decide how much resource to spend on maintaining integrity.

Local trends vary hugely by country and year, so claiming "the best addresses are found from Instagram & Tiktok" is not true for SE Asia, TripAdvisor still has more coverage and reliability, whereas for SE Asia restaurants, Google Maps is a graveyard built from mid-2010s business directories.
