Ask HN: Why do so many YCs shutdown and return partial?

I’m in a YC fund that constantly has companies shutdown and return 20-90% on the dollar. This seems like a very high rate. Other investments I’m in generally go fully to zero or return 1x+. Is this something structural with YC?
