Ask HN: What should I know before hosting eprints?

I'm thinking of putting a lightweight respository online where researchers can publish eprints they have the right to publish (the existing repositories have some gatekeeping or hoops to jump through), and people can download the papers without any registration etc.

what should I know before I do this?
