I've never really understood the obsession with heavily processed "glop" like Huel and stuff, which all has "with Protein!" stuck on it.

Why not just eat food?

It's just convenient to mix in shaker bottle and have food sometimes. I feel like for people who eat to live [1] it's clearly saves time.

[1] as opposed to live to eat

> "Why not just eat food?"

Why not just do less convenient thing instead of more convenient thing? Well, convenience. Duh.

> You only need to understand that different people can have different priorities and desires.

Evolutionarily, food is our absolute number one priority. It's hardcoded into the thought processes of every animal.

Can you describe anything that is more important than food?

The "glop", as you put it, is also food. You just don't like it.
It's expensive, it's not pleasant to eat, and it's not good for you.

Why are you wasting time with it?

> "It's expensive"

You don't like it.

> "it's not pleasant to eat"

You don't like it.

> "and it's not good for you."

You don't like it.

> "wasting time"

You don't like it.

Possibly also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orthorexia_nervosa

None of your complaints make it not food. They just mean you don't know how to differentiate between your personal subjective preferences and correctness and it makes you sound snooty.

Presumably those who eat it find the form factor the opposite of wasting time, given how quick it is to consume it.
Presumably for some who are under specific exercise or diet regimens, it makes tracking macros more easy.

I've never really understood the obsession with one particular kind of food being "the true food".

> Why not just eat food?

Wait, what? Huel is food, by definition.

Well, if you consider intensely sugary pea soup to be food, yes.

> "intensely sugary"

Sugary foods exist.

> "pea soup"

Pea soup also exists.

Your position is so weird. It's like you've never encountered the world of food before.

There are only four sources of calories: protein, fat, carbohydrate, and alcohol. Fat is out. Carbohydrate is out. And you can’t tell people to eat more alcohol.
