I had an email conversation with Dr Tim King, before enrolling into electronics and CS (around age 15?). This conversation definitely confirmed this choice. He was very helpful and kind, explaining a lot about the OS level, how bcpl was used and how to develop for a new platform and the challenges. I remember this fondly and often hoped to thank him at some point. RIP

Seeing the message on that day shocked me, as I hoped he would attend some Amiga meetup. I am unfortunately in Asia these days, so it makes it harder. Regardless, he was legendary and for me the crown on my Amiga history, it really made me who I am now.

Update to this: his son contacted me and informed me that Dr King was in fact 71.
