Show HN: Coffeetable, A new UX to discover books inside Claude (claude.ai)

1 points by Kushalzen ↗ HN
People already come to Claude before buying a book. They ask what to read, whether a book is worth starting etc.

With coffeetable installed(a claude connector)

Claude can now bring you few pages right inside the chat. What better way to decide you like a book than actually read a few pages

Also I recommend everyone ask Claude. "Based on everything you know about me, what are some books I must read"

bro how is this different from just asking Claude? Isn't it the same thing?
well claude can't "quote" books for copyright reasons.
(comment deleted)
so this is essentially a workaround for copyright guardrails?
Welll

1. Because Claude knows you, It can pick the right page that can convince you about the book. 2. And its frictionless cause its happening right inside Claude.

these are kind of reasons why i think

claude + coffeetable >> just claude > google it

claude quoted for me and found better recommendation than coffeetable
Nah bro, claude doesn't "quote" any book that is not publicly free

Can you share the prompt you gave? or like share the chat link

very cool, how do you bypass copyright? and what happens if it’s a recently released book?
For most books public previews which is usually first 10-15 pages is available.

So coffeetable makes them available for claude to pick a page
