Americans are such unserious people.
Trump != Americans
Nearly 70% of eligible Americans didn't think that Trump was a enough of a problem to vote against him in 2024.

This betrays a complete lack of civic seriousness, and a childlike belief of invulnerability to consequences.

Oh so Trump just came out of nowhere I guess
Of course not. But Trump has never been overwhelmingly popular, either. If Trump == Americans, that means more than half of US citizens aren't Americans.
That's a good point, but tech oligarch money is one of the most important ways Trump overcomes the fact he's not overwhelmingly popular. That's also one of the reasons why tech is no longer seen as optimistic and a force for progress.

Elon is setting aside a stash for the next election. Because money is speech, right?

Yet they take themselves so seriously…
Next he'll put Canada on Double Secret Probation, that should do it facepalm
Google maps, outside of the U.S., labels the Gulf of Mexico as "Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)". Practically no other map providers go even that far. It's still the "Gulf of Mexico" and will continue to be such. Even google will likely bow to reality once the need to placate Trump is gone.

The real question Americans should be asking their president is, "Don't you have anything better or more important to do?"
