Their characterization of the US govt as "a politically desperate administration" intending to "sway[] people and media attention away from their own violence and warmongering" sounds on point to me. The good news is that they are desperate and know that they lack popular support for their life-denying actions; the scary thing is that this will certainly not be the last dumb thing they do out of desperation.
