Looks like there's a problem on Google Cloud. I lost a GKE cluster, and Downdetector is spiking.

They haven’t updated their external status page, but the incidents page in the GCP console reports that “Google Cloud multi-product customers are experiencing elevated packet loss and errors to/from us-centrall-b.”

Is this why the HN search doesn't work? hn.algolia.com returns a 500.

Google Engineers have confirmed an issue with Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). There is an issue with:

    Network connectivity from newly created VMs to VMs in different regions
    VM to VM communication
    VM to VM communication over internal IPs

In the following locations:

    asia-east1 (active)
    europe-west4-b (active)
    us-central1 (active)
