Please excuse me, I know this is not news per se; but maybe someone who knows more than I do might find this and be able to do something.
I think I came to know about Gilles through YC many years ago, he didn't have a lot in his webpage, but I found his notetaking using LaTeX quite interesting and helpful, so I saved it on my bookmarks.
I felt so very sorry for his death some years ago, today it seems his webpage went down too and it made me feel quite sad, sort of a second death I guess.
It is a consolation to know that it's saved on the Internet Archive. Anyway, just wanted to vent, I guess. Sorry again.
