It's related but in NYC city schools they're proposing twice-yearly educational sessions for some high school students, no? But without seeing the exact details yet, they way they announced it makes it seem like it will be more like "precautionary" training, similar to sex-ed class rather than how to use AI as a productive tool like typing class or those clases about how to use a PC back in the day. It seems like a lot of teachers are using AI LLMs to correct papers and do grading and report cards, for better or worse!, but hopefully as teachers as a profession get more accustomed to using AI tools it will find it's way into classrooms and be a productive tool rather than a crutch for students or alternative to critical thinking.
