Almost all content here is HN's own bots

When you click “Comments” and see apparently thousands of comments posted per minute, it’s actually a script running that uses an LLM to generate these comments.

They post submissions too, and why?

Why would HN post fake content on its own forum?

Because they sell it as an ad product. For paying customers, they can generate endless conversation and brand apologists for any product or topic you want.

Character.AI does it too. They demo it in a Discord channel. I’ve seen it run at a fast pace and it’s insane. They’re all pretty realistic too
