Bannon is a populist, and America-first nationalist. Bannon is NOT a free-market reagonomics Republican. Remember, one of his criticisms of Obama was that he didn't bail out the auto-industry enough. This shouldn't be surprising who actually pays attention. There is also a large amount of Obama - Bernie - Trump voters, people need to get rid of simple Left vs Right thinking, there are multiple dimensions to politics.
> Bannon is a populist, and America-first nationalist.
Nationalists and communists differ only in their excuses for murder, everything else is the same. A fact known also as the Horseshoe theory of the far-right and far-left extremes merging in shared love for dictatorship.
So, it shouldn't be surprising that Bannon and Bernie have very similar views behind their, seemingly different, populist demagogy.
