Show HN: Facefork – A tree interface to AI edit photos for fun (facefork.com)

Hello HN.

I made this as a fun project with AI. No accounts, sign-ups, or any strings attached.

The idea: Prompt your way into having AI modifying your photos in a tree-like interface. Every edit/prompt creates a leaf node. Share the whole tree or any single picture.

Uses Openrouter as a singular way to access AI image models. Bring your own key.

The whole project is served as a privacy-respecting static web app. No tracking. Your photos or API key never reach the web host or any third party other than Openrouter (obviously for the AI call).

I’ve looked at the page from a new visitor's perspective: you have just five seconds and no scrolling involved.

Score: 45/100. The main reason for losing visitors is the absence of an H1 heading. Neither visitors nor search engines can immediately grasp what your product does, as the primary H1 tag is empty.

Quick fix: add a clear H1 heading that reflects your value proposition—for example, "Upload a photo, ask a 'what if' question, and create branching image trees."

(I found a few other issues as well—I’m happy to share them if you find it useful or interesting.)

I’ll be honest: I’m developing a tool for this kind of analysis and testing it on real pages to see if the results offer any actual value to users.
