A government needs to buy the right to have these cameras and the currency is trust. You can complaint about the way people behave, they deserve it! Won't change anything tho.
How would you feel if they put cameras in your home? I know it sounds absurd but in some places landlord CCTV is gaining more and more terrain.

These individuals destroying cameras, instead of using force to try and impose their will (to no avail), should vote for candidates that support policies you want.
We (supposedly) live in a society. We can't have a society if crime is tolerated.
Right, let's just ignore multiple instances of city councils receiving hours of impassioned speeches from constituents then unanimously voting against the will of the people.
I too would like to see the election system cover it but destroying things is part of the vocabulary. Without it we would end up with absolute rulers who cant be questioned. Governments also have the means to destroy peoples property and/or beat people in line. (We would both rather not see that either) The two combined may have us gradually spiral down into civil war. Before that there is plenty of time for the parties to consider behaving themselves or bow to the pressure.
To be honest, we have far to many people who will put up with anything that doesn't affect them personally. They are capable of much greater harm than this bunch of guys with tube cutters.

Only the state has the means to do so. The state holds the monopoly on violence.

Ever since body cameras, whole ACAB claim has fallen apart. There definitely are bad actors, but they are few and far between.

Somehow, I can't agree that some relatively mild property damage should be penalized by death.
