The valuable part of terminal-agent integration isn’t really more panes. It’s making each session’s state legible: repository and branch, what changed, whether the agent is running or awaiting input, and which diff belongs to which session.
tmux already handles persistence well. The harder question is whether the additional UI survives normal terminal workflows. Can I begin locally, reconnect over SSH or attach through tmux, and retain the useful session metadata? And if the integration fails, does everything degrade cleanly into an ordinary CLI session?
That portability matters more to me than the polished diff viewer, because long-running agents are exactly the sessions I’m most likely to revisit from somewhere else
