Ask HN: Feedback on GitHub-compatible Git hosting
Hi HN - I'm building Reef, a hosted git software that is Github-API compatible.

I'm looking for feedback on the beta. I don't know if anyone would be interested as there already are many other git hosting software (gitlabs, gitea, forgejo, gogs etc) - but happy to share a demo, take feedback and answer any questions. Thanks.

I'm a gitea user myself, hosting it on Coolify; it's lightweight and works like a glove (at least for what I want: a lightweight self hostable git)
I'm not sure where your edge sits, is it on the github-api? I'm pretty sure gitlab, gitea also have it so it'd be hard If it's on availability: 1. it's hard to compete on that with a self hosted server 2. I'm not sure it's a high enough pain for people to switch to something like that, most people are ok/used to having services down or slow for a few minutes (ex: claude down, you just take a break)
