It was an Omani national co-pilot who stabbed his Indian-Emirati captain but was then overpowered by Israeli passengers along with South African and Kiwi backup pilots.
Apparently, Omanis are not allowed to travel to Israel, so an Omani would not be a pilot going to TLV. Dual citizenship is also banned in Oman, so it probably wouldn't be from that either. Something is fishy.
the deadheading crew was Russian and British(or Argentinian?). Russian pilot was in a state of shock and run to the back of the plane and the British one eventually was calmed down and flew the airplane.

AFAIU Omanis would need a visa to travel to Israel but they are allowed.
