Show HN: Learn to program a modular synthesizer in the browser (ostra.fm)

I’m a software engineer and always wanted a simpler way to play around with modular synthesizers, without having to spend thousands of $.

So I built Ostra: a modular synth that runs entirely in the browser, with dozens of modules and a short interactive tutorial. There's no need to install anything, or even log in. Everything runs in the browser and you can even record your patches and save .WAVs to your disk.

I’d be interested in feedback on the implementation, UX, and what other programmable modules would be worth adding.

Thanks for checking this out!

This is super cool - always had an interest in synths but they're so intimidating, a tutorial sounds perfect. Bookmarked!
Thanks! let me know how you find it, I'm looking to make useful improvements daily.
It's lovely! I've played with all kinds of synth hardware and software but I could never wire up all the parts and boxes in something like Reaktor. Kudos!
This is great, really helped me understand how synths work
